What the forms collect

The request forms on this site collect only the information you type into them: your name, how to reach you, and the details you choose to share about your roof or your request. Nothing is collected from you silently in the background, and no form field is required beyond what is needed to route your request.

How submissions are used and stored

When you submit a form, the submission is written to a database that belongs to this site and is used to route your request to the right people so we can respond to you. That is what the information is collected for. Your email address, phone number, and anything you typed in a message box are encrypted before they are stored, and none of it is written to server logs.

How long we keep it

We are not going to publish a number we do not hold ourselves to, so here is what decides it instead. A record is kept for as long as these apply, and you can ask us to remove yours at any point:

• Whether your request is still open and needs an answer.
• Whether the record documents work we performed, which has to stay with the job file and the warranty on it.
• How long records of that kind must be kept to meet contractor licensing, tax, and insurance obligations.

What the tools do with what you give them

The tools on this site run without an account and without storing your inputs. The one exception is opt-in: if you ask a tool to email you your result, we store that email address and, for a roof measurement, the property address you measured, as described in the next section.

• Address tools. An address you type into the roof size, roof measurement, or storm history tools is sent to the data providers named below to answer that one request. We do not log it, cache it, or store it. (If you ask for a measurement by email, that is a marketing sign-up and the measured address is kept with it; the emailed-results section below describes exactly what that means.)
• Roof visualizer. The photo you choose is resized on your own device, which also strips camera metadata such as GPS location, then sent through this site to an image provider to generate the concept. The result comes back to your browser and is not stored on our servers. The roof outline the tool builds to speed up later color swaps is saved in your own browser, not sent anywhere else.
• Coverage check. A ZIP code you enter to check service coverage is answered from data on this site and is not sent anywhere.

Emailed results and marketing follow-ups

Each tool can email you its result if you type your email address into the box beside it. Doing that is a marketing sign-up, and the text next to the box says so. Here is exactly what it means:

• What we store. Your email address (encrypted, like the form fields above), which tool you used, the wording of the disclosure you saw, and the follow-up schedule. For a roof measurement, we also keep the property address you measured, encrypted the same way, because the follow-up for a measured roof may include a note by mail to that property. Building the attached PDF briefly holds the measurement and the aerial image as well; that working copy is deleted right after, with an automatic daily sweep behind it.
• What we send. The result you asked for, then at most two short follow-up emails about it over the following days, and for a measured roof possibly a note by mail to the measured property. Every email carries a one-tap unsubscribe link and our physical address.
• When we stop. The moment you unsubscribe, immediately and without a login, and that covers the mail as well as the emails; when the short sequence ends on its own; or when you contact us through a request form, because at that point a person is handling your request and automated follow-ups would be noise.

Who else handles your information

Running this site takes outside services. Here is the whole list, what triggers each one, and what it receives. Nothing is sold, and nothing is shared for advertising.

  When: Every page view. This site runs on Vercel.

  What it gets: The ordinary request information any web server receives: your IP address, your browser type, and the page you asked for.

  Why: Serving the pages, and limiting how often a single address can call the tools so they are not abused.

• analytics

  Vercel Web Analytics

  When: Every page view, plus the moments a button or a form reaches an outcome.

  What it gets: The page address, and a short label for what happened: a phone link was tapped, a button was pressed, a form was started, a form was sent or failed, a coverage check ran, one of the roof tools started or finished, a visualizer photo render started or finished, a tool result was requested by email, or a financing link to Hearth was followed. Labels are picked from a fixed list, so nothing you typed and nothing that identifies you or your property is ever part of one. No cookies are set.

  Why: Counting which pages get read, and which requests actually reach the people who answer them, so a form or a page that quietly fails gets found and fixed.

  Vercel Speed Insights

  When: Every page view.

  What it gets: Aggregate loading and responsiveness measurements for the page, with the page address. No cookies are set, and nothing identifies you personally.

  Why: Measuring how fast pages actually load and respond on real devices, so slow pages get fixed instead of assumed fine.

  When: Submitting a request form, or asking one of the roof tools to email you your result.

  What it gets: What you typed into the form, or the email address you gave a tool. Your email address, phone number, and message are encrypted before they are written, and they are never written to server logs. A tool email record also stores which tool it was, the follow-up schedule, and, for a roof measurement, the measured property address (encrypted), kept because the follow-up for a measured roof may include a mailer to that property. The measurement and aerial image are additionally held encrypted for the minutes it takes to build the attached PDF, deleted right after, and swept daily as a backstop.

  Why: Recording your request so it can be routed to the people who will answer it, remembering a tool email sign-up (and its measured address) so follow-ups by email or mail stop the moment you unsubscribe or become a customer, and assembling the report PDF a measurement email carries.

  When: Submitting a request form, or asking one of the roof tools to email you your result.

  What it gets: For a request form: the name, contact details, and message you typed, carried inside the email that notifies our team. For a tool result: your email address and the result itself (the measurement figures, or the concept image as an attachment), plus the short follow-up emails described in the marketing section of the privacy notice. Resend transmits these emails the way any mail service does; nothing else about your visit goes with them.

  Why: Delivering your request to the people who answer it, and delivering the tool results and follow-ups you asked for.

  OpenAI

  When: Only when you press "See my roof" in the roof visualizer.

  What it gets: The house photo you chose, re-encoded first so camera metadata such as GPS location is removed, plus the manufacturer color you picked. Nothing that identifies you is sent with it.

  Why: Generating the color concept image, which is returned straight back to your browser and is not stored on our side.

  Google Maps Platform (Places, Solar, and Map Tiles)

  When: Only when you type an address into the roof size or roof measurement tools.

  What it gets: The address text and the map location it resolves to.

  Why: Completing the address as you type and returning aerial roof geometry for the estimate. The lookup itself is not logged, cached, or stored by us; if you then ask for the measurement by email, the measured address is kept with that sign-up as the marketing section of the privacy notice describes.

  USGS The National Map, or Esri ArcGIS Online, for aerial base imagery

  When: Only when the roof size or roof measurement tools show an aerial map.

  What it gets: Ordinary map-tile requests made by your browser: your IP address and the map area on screen, which reflects the address you entered. Nothing else identifies you.

  Why: Displaying public aerial imagery underneath the measurement overlay. The requests go from your browser to the public service directly, not through us.

  United States Census Bureau geocoder and the Iowa Environmental Mesonet archive of National Weather Service storm reports

  When: Only when you run the storm history tool on an address.

  What it gets: The address text and the map location it resolves to.

  Why: Finding public National Weather Service hail and wind reports near that location. The address is not logged, cached, or stored by us.

• financing referral

  Hearth

  When: Only if you choose to follow a financing link. Nothing is shared until you click.

  What it gets: Nothing from us. The link opens Hearth's own site, where whatever you enter is handled under Hearth's terms and privacy policy, not ours.

  Why: Letting you review payment options with a company that is not K. Simon Construction. We are not the lender and we do not make credit decisions.

These are United States services and the information stays with them for the purpose described. Each runs under its own terms, which we do not control.

Phone calls

Calls placed through the phone links on this site go to our published business line, 888-NOW-ROOF ((888) 669-7663). The number shown on the page is the number your call connects to.

Page analytics

The site measures how its pages perform using cookieless, privacy-friendly analytics: aggregate page views and web performance vitals. This measurement sets no cookies, does not follow you across other websites, and does not identify you personally. It tells us which pages are read and how fast they load, nothing about who you are.

The same measurement also records the moments a button or a form reaches an outcome: a phone link tapped, a request form started, a request sent or failed to send, a coverage check run, one of the roof tools started or finished, a visualizer photo render started or finished, or a click through to Hearth's financing site. Each is recorded as a short label from a fixed list, counted in aggregate. Nothing you typed into a form, no address, and nothing that identifies you or your property is part of one.

Page speed is measured the same way, from real visits rather than a test machine, so a page that is slow on an actual phone gets found. This is also cookieless and carries nothing personal.

What this site does not do

• No advertising trackers.
• No analytics cookies.
• No cross-site tracking of any kind.
• No accounts or logins, so no stored passwords.
• No selling or renting of your information, and no sharing of it with anyone outside the list above.

Asking what we hold, or asking us to delete it

Call (888) 669-7663 (888-NOW-ROOF) and say it is a privacy request. Tell us whether you want to know what we hold, correct it, or have it removed. It will be routed to the people who handle it.

If you have the reference number from the confirmation page you saw after submitting a form, have it ready. It points straight at your record. Without it we will ask for the name and contact details you used, so we remove the right one.
